The Path of the Tamaz Bekaia Educational Fund – 5 Years as an Investment in Education
Efforts invested in education always transcend time frames.
It creates results that will be felt not only today, but also in the future.
5 years have passed since the establishment of the Tamaz Bekaia Educational Fund — a period that is already clearly read in achievements, real stories and people who, with this support, were able to strengthen their own path.
During this time, the Fund’s activities have become even more evident in concrete results: 185 scholarship holders, 30 laureates and 11 winning schools — numbers that are not just statistics; behind each one is hard work, opportunity and development.
In the same context, the dynamics of annual results are also important. In 2025, the Foundation, with the aim of promoting education, supported a number of students and schools across Georgia. During the year, financial assistance provided to enhance access to education, academic success, and motivation totaled GEL 125,680.
According to 2024 data, the resources provided within the framework of support were distributed purposefully: scholarships awarded to students amounted to GEL 76,650; bonuses established for entrants — GEL 11,250; funding for Gori University — GEL 13,780; and grants awarded to schools winning school competitions — GEL 24,000. This distribution reflects the Foundation’s strategic approach, which encompasses all important stages of education.
From the very beginning, the Foundation’s activities were based on the idea that education should be accessible, supported, and practically applicable. Over the years, this idea has developed into a systematic approach — cooperation with leading state universities, support for students with scholarships, establishment of bonuses for applicants and grant projects for rural public schools.
This is not a one-time assistance — it is a continuous process that creates a full cycle of development: from school to university and from university to professional realization.
The new generation as the main value
During the 5 years of the foundation’s existence, special attention has been paid to young people — those who create the future with their own labor. Today, scholarship holders and laureates are already an example of how education can become a real opportunity, and opportunity — a concrete result.
Their experience unites one main idea: properly targeted support strengthens motivation and accelerates development.
One of the important directions of the foundation is support for regional education. Projects financed within the framework of grant competitions create an environment in rural public schools where students are given more opportunities for development. The 11 winning schools represent an initiative that contributes to the improvement of the quality of education and the expansion of opportunities throughout the country.
International Vision — Vatican Project
The implementation of international projects has become an important stage in the development of the Foundation, among which the Vatican Project occupies a special place.
This initiative combines educational, cultural and research directions and is another step towards integration into the global space.
